Kushano Sasanians, Peroz III Kushanshah. Circa AD 350-375. AE Unit.
14.14mm, 1.23gm. Gandhara mint?. Crowned bust right, wearing ram's horns headdress with 'artichoke' ornament above / Fire altar with bust of Ahura Mazda/Mithra (?) above. Pahlavi legend very clear.
Mitchiner ACW 1312, Gobl 1096, Cribb SI 19, #28. About extremely fine with clear legend, Very Rare. better in hand.
 
 
Note:
The Kushano-sasanians were sasanian princes ruling the old kushan lands in Bactria, the Kabul valley and Gandhara, as sasanian vasalls. Some periods these kushan-shahs were more or less independent, like this ruler, Hormazd I Kushanshah, ruling about AD 295-325 (or 270-295 according to Cribb).
